Click the above link to view a short list of suggested musicians, bands, & albums to listen to in order to experience the world of jazz music. On pages 1 - 2, you will find jazz musicians by instrument. On pages

3 - 4, you will find jazz albums by genre. You can utilize YouTube and/or streaming services (i.e. Spotify, GooglePlay, Apple Music, etc.) in order to find music to listen to. If you are having trouble finding music, please let me know and I will guide you in the right direction.

Lead Sheet Study

Mr. P.C. - this classic John Coltrane composition is simple enough to learn quickly and fun to solo over. Beware - this is usually taken fast!

The Beaver Lake Middle School band program is dedicated to excellence, both musically & academically. Members of the band will continue their music education by learning to play an instrument, expanding their understanding of music theory, and performing exciting & challenging repertoire for community audiences. Above all, the goal of the band classroom is to foster a deep love the performing arts, offering students a chance to express themselves, work together, and explore their creativity along the way.
